Cover Construction in San Bernardino, CA | Sycamore Contractors

We’re Sycamore Contractors, and we handle independent Cover construction and Cover service in Muscoy and across San Bernardino, CA. That means we install, repair, and replace Cover screen doors, patio covers, and sliding screen systems without being tied to any manufacturer’s sales channel. The thing that sets our work apart here: we know how Cover assemblies behave in San Bernardino specifically, because the housing stock and the wind don’t act like they do ten miles down the 215. Call (877) 265-6284 when you’re ready to talk scope.

Call (877) 265-6284

Our relationship with Cover is simple. We’re an independent installer. We work to Cover’s published specifications, we use OEM rollers, tracks, and screen fabric, and we tell you honestly when your framing or stucco won’t support the system without repair first. In a city with homes built anywhere from 1910 to 1975, that honest scoping matters more than a brochure full of features.

Why San Bernardino Residents Choose Us for Cover Service

Most Cover work fails because of what’s behind the panel, not the panel itself. We’ve spent enough time inside San Bernardino walls to know what we’ll find before we open them. Downtown and the older core ZIPs like 92401 and 92410 hold bungalows with pier-and-beam floors and settled, non-square openings. The 1960s and 70s tracts in 92404, 92405, and 92408 have dried-out headers and single-pane assemblies. A factory-square Cover frame doesn’t care about any of that, which is why the installer has to.

Nate Calloway, our owner, grew up building in this region and runs crews with the same expectation he has for his own place: do the job in a way that holds up to July. That means we reframe when the opening is racked, we replace the header when it’s shrunk, and we don’t bolt a Cover track into hollow stucco and call it done. We also stock Cover OEM parts locally, so a repair in San Bernardino doesn’t wait on a shipment from a warehouse in another state.

We’re a full-scope general contractor in San Bernardino, which changes how we look at a Cover install. If your patio cover needs noncombustible cladding behind it, or your roofline needs re-flashing before a screen system hangs from it, we handle that under the same contract. One team, one point of contact, and no finger-pointing between a screen installer and a roofer.

Common Cover Construction Problems We Solve in San Bernardino

  • Santa Ana racking on patio covers and screen panels. Mountain-descent winds in the Inland Empire corridor load Cover frames hard. Brackets anchored into aged 2x framing or hollow stucco start pulling, and the whole assembly racks out of square. We see this constantly in 92405 and 92408, where the post-WWII framing has already shrunk from decades of triple-digit summers.
  • Rollers binding and panels jumping track. Heat and near-zero rainfall dry out the wood headers that Cover sliding panels ride in. On 1960s tract homes near Del Rosa Avenue, the track is often out of square by a quarter inch or more. You get rollers that bind, panels that stick mid-travel, and eventually a screen that won’t seat at all. The fix usually means resetting the track and replacing the rollers, not just lubricating them.
  • Wildfire code conflicts in foothill ZIPs. In 92404 and 92407, Chapter 7A rules apply. Ember-resistant vents, Class A assemblies, noncombustible siding. A Cover screen on a non-compliant wall doesn’t satisfy anything. We scope the assembly first and only hang the Cover system once the fire-zone requirements are actually met, because a screen that passes visually and fails code is worse than no screen.
  • Gaps and sag on settled downtown bungalows. The Craftsman-era homes in 92401 and 92411 sit on pier-and-beam foundations that have settled for a century. Openings aren’t square. A factory-square Cover frame forced into that opening leaves uneven gaps, screen sag, and a warranty that won’t matter because the install was wrong from the start. We square the opening first.
  • Flashing failures where the Cover frame meets the house. This is the one that looks like a screen problem and isn’t. When the flashing seam between a Cover assembly and the existing wall opens up, water and wind get behind the system. In San Bernardino’s dry-wind cycle, that gap widens seasonally. We re-flash the seam while we’re in there, so the next wind event doesn’t peel it open again.

Cover Service in San Bernardino: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Half the requests we get in 92404 and 92407 aren’t really roof jobs, they’re wildland-urban interface compliance problems. The foothill edge of San Bernardino sits against the San Bernardino Mountains, and Chapter 7A rules in those ZIPs demand ember-resistant vents, Class A roof assemblies, and noncombustible siding. A tract home three miles closer to the 215 will never be asked to meet that standard. We scope those foothill roofs and walls to Chapter 7A first, and only then do we talk Cover systems. Because a refreshed patio cover on a non-compliant wall doesn’t pass, and a screen panel with an ember-resistant rating doesn’t mean anything if the wall behind it isn’t fire-rated. The assembly matters, not the product alone.

We worked a 1962 tract home off Del Rosa Avenue in 92405 where the original single-pane assemblies and the Cover sliding screen system had both racked after years of Santa Ana gusts. Rollers bound, the track was out of square, and the header had shrunk. We reframed the opening, reset the track with new Cover OEM rollers and brackets, and re-flashed the seams. The panels glide full travel now, and the wall is sealed against the next dry wind cycle. A second call in 92407 near the foothill edge went differently: the Cover repair in Loma Linda and similar foothill areas often means the patio-cover frame on an older stucco wall needed noncombustible cladding and an ember-resistant vent upgrade under Chapter 7A before we’d hang anything new. Two San Bernardino homes, ten minutes apart, two different scopes before a Cover system went on.

Cover Models & Products We Service in San Bernardino

We work on the full Cover residential line: retractable screen doors (single and double panel), aluminum patio cover and pergola frame systems, sliding glass door screen and security screen assemblies, and custom-fit screen and shade panel systems. On every install and repair, we use Cover OEM rollers, tracks, brackets, and screen fabric so the warranty spec and hardware tolerances stay intact. We only substitute a comparable aftermarket part when the owner asks us to, and we’ll always tell you when that’s a bad idea. When a frame is bent or a panel shattered, we repair it in place. When the whole assembly has racked out of square or the surrounding framing is failing, replacement is the honest call. Our parts stock in San Bernardino and Cover in Rialto covers the common wear items for the models above, which keeps most repairs to a single visit.

For broader work in the area, we also handle full Cover sales & service across the region, and we’re the same team doing San Bernardino service area work from roofing to ADUs.

Cover Service Pricing in San Bernardino

Here’s what to expect on the construction and repair side of a Cover system in San Bernardino. These ranges reflect the local market, including the reframing and flashing work that older homes often need before a Cover assembly can go on properly.

Service Price Range
Roof Repair $400 – $1800
Roof Replacement & Installation $8000 – $20000
Metal Roof Installation $15000 – $40000
Window Replacement $4500 – $15000
Impact Window Installation $8000 – $25000

What drives the cost in San Bernardino is almost always what’s behind the visible job. A reframe on a settled downtown bungalow costs more than a clean retrofit on a 1970s tract home. A Chapter 7A compliance scope in 92407 adds work that a 92408 job won’t need. Every estimate we give is a written line-item quote, free. Call (877) 265-6284 and we’ll walk the property and tell you exactly what we found.
