Abodu Construction in Chino, CA | Sycamore Contractors
We provide independent Abodu construction service across Chino, handling site work, permitting coordination, and the finish tie-ins that a factory-built backyard unit needs to actually hold up here, with our General Contractor in Chino managing every phase. What sets our Abodu work apart in this city is that we’ve placed these units on both sides of the 60 freeway, which means we know the difference between working a Preserve lot in 91708 and a postwar tract lot in 91710. Call us at (877) 265-6284 to get a straight answer about your site before you commit to anything.
Why Chino Residents Choose Us for Abodu Service
We know how an Abodu module arrives, how it’s set, and where it fails three or four years down the line in this climate. Nate Calloway, our owner, grew up in Redhawk over in Temecula and has spent the better part of two decades running crews across Southwest Riverside County and the Inland Empire, including Abodu in Montclair and surrounding areas. That background matters when you’re deciding whether a factory seam on an Abodu One needs re-flashing or re-coating, because the answer isn’t the same on a shaded north wall as it is on a west elevation that takes full afternoon sun in a Chino August.
As an independent contractor, we work for the homeowner. Not the factory. That means when we see an Abodu detail that’s marginal for the Inland Empire, we say so and spec a fix. We use Abodu sales & service expertise the same way we would any brand inspection: check the structure, honor the warranty where it applies, and repair what the warranty ignores.

Common Abodu Construction Problems We Solve in Chino
- Foundation and utility stub-out misalignment. Factory-set foundation points and utility stub-outs don’t always line up with a Preserve lot’s post-tension slab edges or the shallow laterals a tract builder left behind. We re-layout the pad and adjust connection points before the module ever gets craned into place, which is cheaper than reworking it after.
- Stucco and exterior coating failure on south and west walls. Chino’s hot, dry summers and Santa Ana wind events are harder on factory finish specs than the coastal climate those finishes were likely designed around. We see cracking and fading concentrated on the sun-facing elevations, and we re-coat with heat-rated elastomeric before the damage moves inward.
- Roof-to-wall flashing leaks on sloped lots. Chino has enough sloped-lot grading that a winter rain will find the seam where an Abodu roof meets the existing patio or grade. The factory drainage detail doesn’t always account for how water actually moves across a Preserve swale or an older 91710 yard, so we re-flash and tie downspouts into the site drainage.
- First-year punch-list fit issues. Door alignment, trim gaps, and sealant cracking in year one usually get blamed on the unit. In our experience it’s the site: leveling and settling on expansive Inland Empire soil. We re-shim, re-align, and re-caulk so the unit sits right.
- Main-house tie-in problems. An Abodu on an older 91710 lot often needs electrical panel upgrades or roof work on the primary home before the unit can be tied in. On a 91708 Preserve home still under builder warranty, we coordinate so the Abodu work doesn’t void anything.
Abodu Service in Chino: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Chino is two completely different jobs a few miles apart. The Preserve in 91708 is 2000s and 2010s master-planned stock, much of it still inside or just past builder warranty periods. The 91710 core is postwar and 1970s-80s tract homes, many of them due for re-roofing or re-piping. That split shapes every Abodu placement we do. On a Preserve lot we’re often coordinating a backyard unit against a home that’s still under active builder punch-list attention. Across the freeway in 91710, we’re placing that same Abodu behind a house that may need its main roof replaced and its electrical panel brought to current code before the unit can be tied in electrically. It’s the same product, the same crew, and a completely different sequence of work depending on which ZIP you’re in.
Abodu Models & Products We Service in Chino
We handle the full Abodu line: the Abodu One, a one-bedroom backyard unit; the Abodu Two, a two-bedroom configuration; and the Abodu Junior studio layout. Where components are structural or warranty-sensitive, we use Abodu’s OEM panels, connectors, and finish pieces. Where the factory spec is marginal for Chino’s sun and wind, we specify aftermarket glazing, sealants, and exterior coatings rated for Inland Empire UV and heat exposure. We stock common connectors and flashing locally so turnaround on Abodu repair in Los Serranos and nearby areas doesn’t stall waiting on a shipment.

FAQs – Abodu Construction in Chino
Does an Abodu unit in the Preserve at Chino need separate city approval even though my house is new? Yes. A new tract home does not automatically clear an accessory dwelling unit. The ADU triggers its own plan check, setbacks on your specific Preserve lot, and utility service confirmation. We coordinate that process and flag any builder warranty conflicts before work starts.
Can you place an Abodu behind an older 91710 tract home with a shallow utility lateral? In most cases, yes. Shallow laterals on 1970s and 80s-era lots often need either a stubbed connection adjustment or a panel upgrade before the unit can tie in electrically. We scope that before the module is ordered, so you’re not discovering it the week of delivery. Call (877) 265-6284 and we’ll walk the lot.
How do Chino’s Santa Ana winds affect an Abodu exterior over time? Santa Ana events combine dry air with gusting winds, and in our experience the first thing to go is factory sealant at roof-to-wall transitions and around west-facing window trim. We re-flash and re-coat those areas with elastomeric rated for Inland Empire UV and wind. Doing it right the first time, or you’ll do it twice in the July heat.
Do you handle the roof on the main house if it needs work before an Abodu goes in? Yes. Roof repair and full reroofing are both in our scope. On a 91710 home overdue for roof work, we’ll re-roof the house and handle the Abodu tie-in under one contract so you’re not juggling two crews. Estimates are free: (877) 265-6284.
Is Sycamore Contractors authorized by Abodu? No. We are an independent general contractor, not an authorized Abodu dealer or factory affiliate. We work for the homeowner, use OEM parts where they’re structurally necessary, and substitute higher-spec aftermarket materials where the factory spec doesn’t hold up to Chino conditions.
