Cambria Construction in Perris, CA | Sycamore Contractors
We install, repair, and replace Cambria quartz countertops throughout Perris, and our Cambria services account for this: Cambria holds up well here, but Perris’s split housing stock means two very different installs. New tract homes east of the 215 sit on expansive clay that moves, while older downtown homes near D Street have settling wood frames. Both conditions stress countertops, and we plan for both. Call (877) 265-6284 for a free estimate.
Why Perris Residents Choose Us for Cambria Service
We’ve worked with Cambria quartz since before the big housing push transformed the old dairy land along I-215 into master-planned subdivisions. That matters because Cambria isn’t a generic slab product. It’s a high-resin engineered surface with specific fabrication tolerances, and the way it behaves on a slab-on-grade foundation in 92571 is different from how it behaves in a 1940s pier-and-beam home on D Street. Nate Calloway runs our crews, and he’s spent the better part of two decades working across Southwest Riverside County. He’ll tell you straight: a Cambria countertop installed without accounting for the foundation underneath it becomes a callback waiting to happen.
We are an independent Cambria fabricator and installer. We are not affiliated with or authorized by Cambria, and we don’t pretend to be. What we bring is fabrication-level knowledge: we know which seam-setting compounds match which Cambria resin formulations, when a crack can be epoxied and polished versus when a section needs replacement, and how to level a cabinet run before the slab ever touches it. For Cambria sales & service across the region, homeowners want one contractor who actually knows the material, not a crew that treats it like any other quartz. Common Cambria Construction Problems We Solve in Perris
- Seam separation on slab-on-grade tract homes. The new subdivisions along the I-215 corridor sit on former dairy and agricultural land with expansive clay soils. As that clay swells and contracts through Perris’s dry-wet cycles, the slab shifts subtly, and Cambria seams, especially at undermount sink cutouts and island joints, start to open. We re-set those seams with a flexible epoxy matched to the slab’s resin, not a rigid fill that just cracks again.
- Heat-driven expansion cracks on dark Cambria colors. Cambria Ella and Brittanicca look stunning in a kitchen with west-facing windows, but Perris routinely hits over 100°F in summer, and that afternoon sun through a window can push a dark slab’s surface temperature well past 130°F. If the slab wasn’t properly acclimated before install, you get hairline cracks at seam joints and edge profiles. We see this most often in the 92570 and 92571 tract homes with broad west-facing great rooms.
- Dulled finish from active construction dust. If you live in a new phase of a Perris subdivision, there’s a good chance the lot next door is still being graded. That fine grading grit and construction dust settles on polished Cambria and gets ground in with every wipe of a dish towel. It microscratches the resin surface. We’ve restored finishes on counters that owners assumed were permanently dulled.
- Cracked slabs on unlevel older-home cabinets. Downtown Perris and the blocks around D Street have pre-war and mid-century wood-frame homes where floors have settled and cabinet runs are out of level by a quarter inch or more. A rigid Cambria slab set on an uneven base will find its weak point, usually a narrow rail around a cooktop, and fail. We level the cabinets first, then set the slab.
- Chipped edges at island overhangs. Kitchen islands in Perris get used hard, and a tight-lot tract home means the island is often the main work surface. We see chipping at unsupported overhang edges, especially where the slab spans more than 12 inches. Service includes edge profile restoration or, when it’s the right call, a metal support bracket and a re-cut edge.
Cambria Service in Perris: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Perris’s eastern growth corridor along I-215 is built on former dairy and agricultural land. That detail, as much as any countertop brand, determines how your Cambria holds up over time. Here’s why: dairy land in this part of Riverside County typically has expansive clay soil underneath it, the kind that shrinks during dry months and swells when rain finally arrives. A slab-on-grade foundation poured over that soil doesn’t sit perfectly still. It moves, sometimes only a few millimeters, but that’s enough. In a new tract home in the 92571 ZIP with a still-curing slab and an adjacent lot actively being graded, a Cambria island with an undermount sink has three structural stress points: the sink cutout, the seam joint, and the overhang. We’ve seen seams open six months after a perfect install, not because of anything the installers did wrong, but because the ground underneath shifted. Compare that to the older downtown core near D Street, where homes sit on pier-and-beam foundations that are already done settling. Those homes have a different problem: the floor itself isn’t level. In both cases, the fix starts the same way. Do it right the first time, or you’ll do it twice in the July heat. We figure out what the floor and foundation are doing before we ever set the slab, and we adjust the install accordingly.
Cambria Models & Products We Service in Perris
We work with the full Cambria catalog, including Ella, Brittanicca, Torquay, and Summerhill. Each has a distinct resin content and pattern density, and we adjust our seam and edge work accordingly. For in-production colors, we use Cambria-approved adhesives and seam-setting compounds matched to the slab. For out-of-production colors, like a homeowner doing a partial kitchen refresh in an older Perris home, we fabricate color-matched seams rather than risk a visible mismatch. We also stock OEM edge profiles and sink-mounting hardware where available. When edge profiles are discontinued, we mill custom profiles that match the slab’s actual finish. This is not a job for a generic countertop shop.

AfterCambria Service Pricing in Perris
Pricing depends on the scope of the job, the specific Cambria color, and whether we’re fabricating a new install or repairing an existing one. Here’s where our work in Perris typically lands:
| Service | Typical Price Range |
|---|---|
| Countertop Installation | $2,000 – $6,500 |
| Kitchen Island Installation | $3,000 – $10,000 |
| Backsplash Installation | $800 – $2,500 |
| Kitchen Remodel | $14,000 – $45,000 |
What drives the price: slab square footage, edge profile complexity, number of seams, and whether we’re working in a new tract home with open access or an older downtown Perris home with tight doorways and a long carry. Every estimate includes a site visit to check the level of the existing cabinets, the foundation condition where we can see it, and any dust or heat exposure factors specific to your lot. FAQs – Cambria Construction in Perris
Yes, it does, and the effect is most visible on dark Cambria colors like Ella and Brittanicca in west-facing kitchens. Surface temperatures from direct afternoon sun can climb past 130°F, and the slab expands. If the slab wasn’t properly acclimated during fabrication and install, that expansion concentrates at the weakest points: seam joints and edge profiles. We’ve fixed hairline cracks that opened in the first July after an install. The fix is either an epoxy-and-polish repair or, near a cooktop where heat exposure is constant, replacement of that specific section. Call (877) 265-6284 if you’re seeing cracks open on a dark Cambria kitchen counter, and we’ll assess whether it’s repair or replace.
Because the ground under those homes is different. The 92571 tract along the I-215 corridor sits on former dairy land with expansive clay soil, and slab-on-grade foundations there are still settling. Downtown Perris homes are mostly pier-and-beam, already settled, and the issue there is cabinet level, not soil movement. So in 92571 we prep for slab movement with flexible epoxy at seams and proper support at island overhangs, and downtown we prep by leveling cabinet runs first. Same material, two different install approaches. Call (877) 265-6284 for a foundation-and-cabinet assessment before you commit to a Cambria install.
Yes. Cambria has retired colors over the years, and if you’re redoing a section of counter in a pre-war D Street home and need to match an out-of-production color, we fabricate a custom color-matched seam. We take a sample of your existing slab, mix a fill that matches the resin’s pigment, and blend it so the new section reads as continuous. It won’t be a perfect invisible match, but it’ll be close enough that nobody notices unless they’re looking for it. We’ll tell you honestly if a match isn’t possible. Call (877) 265-6284 and bring us a photo or a cut-off piece.
If you’re in a new Perris subdivision where the lot next door is still being graded, that dust is going to land on your counters daily. Grading grit is abrasive, and every time you wipe it with a cloth, you’re grinding it into the polished surface of the Cambria. Over a few months, the counter develops a dull, scratched film. We can restore the finish with a multi-step polish and then recommend a maintenance seal. This is a common issue in the 92571 and 92572 phases where build-out is still in progress. Call (877) 265-6284 for a finish assessment.
We do, and we’ve fixed problems that other installers left behind in exactly those homes. Settling floors mean unlevel cabinet runs, and an unlevel cabinet run will eventually crack a Cambria slab at its narrowest point, usually the rail around a cooktop cutout. We level the cabinets before we set the slab, even if that means stripping and shimming the bases. The extra time prevents the crack. We’ve done exactly this work on D Street and the blocks around the old downtown. Call (877) 265-6284 for a consultation.
